Hello everyone, it's literally been a year since my last update... Wow, time really flies by when you're not looking. I've been working and spending time with my awesome family, God's truly blessed me.
As you may have guessed, I haven't had much time for art in the past 365, but just in time for Easter I do have something for ya. A new image, all digital, in Photoshop CS4 with a Cintiq (amazing piece of equipment by the way). I call it, "King of the Jews." Check it out in my gallery!
I really hope it reminds people of just how much He went through for our sake. And when you read in the gospels just how intensely He was beaten, this picture is probably more like a playground scuffle than the real thing. Flogged, struck, his beard pulled out, hit with sticks, spit on, and the list goes on, all the way to being nailed to a tree and crucified with criminals in an agonizing, disgraceful death. And He went through it all, willingly, because He loved us, wanted to pay our debt, and give us eternal life. Our amazing Savior! Jesus Christ.
Doing this piece I wanted to shy away from the typical clean, pristine, white Jesus everyone's become so accustomed to. He wasn't white, he probably didn't have blue eyes, and He most certainly had more than "one single trickle" of blood coming from the crown of thorns. Feel free to critique and share your opinions; I always look forward to hearing what you guys have to say. And thanks for being patient waiting for this one, hopefully it was worth the wait. I think it's my best piece without a doubt, and how could it not be when God's got His hand in it... Praise the Lord!
If you don't know Jesus Christ as your savior, or are looking to learn more about Him, please drop me a note, an email, anything. Don't be shy, reach out, and I'll do my best to answer any questions you may have, and share the greatest news in the world with you.
'Till the next time, God Bless. And this weekend don't forget what He's done for us, He's conquered death and sin! Happy Easter to everyone!
Tom
